Pathways to Purpose

When Love Becomes a Pattern

A pattern is more than a single bad moment. It is a repeated way of responding that produces predictable results — and learning to recognize it is not about labeling people. It is about discernment. This is the faith-centered guide to narcissistic patterns, avoidance patterns, and what Scripture teaches about pride, fear, wisdom, boundaries, and restoration.

Taught by someone who lived it

I'm Nikkimae — a survivor of 25 years of domestic violence. When my own family turned on me for breaking the cycle, I rebuilt my life on faith, honesty, and tools that actually work. I don't teach theory. I teach what I lived — gentle in how I say it, unmovable in what I say. This one started as a single download and grew into a full book: the workbook heals, the pattern book names, the avoidant book frees — and this one brings the patterns and the Scripture together in one place.

"I'm not teaching you to hate the person who hurt you. I'm teaching you how to heal, recognize unhealthy patterns, establish godly boundaries, and stop abandoning yourself in the name of love."

If my pain can save one person, then it was worth it. Maybe that one person is you.

Questions

How do I get the book?

Instantly. After checkout, Gumroad gives you the PDF download right away and emails you a receipt with the link. No account needed to buy.

Can I print it?

Yes — it's designed for it. Read it on any device, or print it and keep it where you need it most.

Do I need the other books first?

No. This book stands on its own — patterns, avoidance, and Biblical wisdom in one volume. The workbook and the other books are companions, not prerequisites.

I'm still in the pattern. Is this for me?

Yes — especially you. The first chapter was written for exactly where you are: start with what keeps happening, not with what's wrong with anyone. Discernment first, then boundaries.

Is this therapy?

No — it's peer support and education from a survivor, not a substitute for professional care. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 anytime, or the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233. You are worth immediate help.

Recognize it. Name it. Break it.

Chapter 8

Boundaries: Love Without Losing Yourself

"A pattern is more than a single bad moment. It is a repeated way of responding that produces predictable results."

Learning to recognize patterns is not about labeling people. It is about increasing discernment. You can acknowledge what is happening without deciding that you know everything about another person's heart. Instead of beginning with "What is wrong with this person?", begin with "What keeps happening?"

What you can do: Ask it plainly this week: What happens when I say no? What happens when I express a need? What happens when accountability is introduced? The answers are the pattern — and the pattern is where your boundary begins.

Truth to hold: Behavior before labels. Discernment before decisions.
